Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026. The Seattle Squash Racquets Association (SSRA) is a volunteer-run nonprofit. This page explains what we collect on seattlesquash.com, why, and who sees it. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and, if you set one, a password (stored encrypted). Your home club, if you give it.
- Squash ladders: the ladders you join, your positions, match results, scores, ratings and comments you post, and your Club Locker rating (from US Squash’s public rankings). Messages you send about a challenge are kept on the site.
- Waivers: the name, email and phone of the person signing; for a junior waiver, the junior’s name and date of birth; the exact waiver text signed; when it was signed and confirmed; and the internet address and browser it was signed from. Paper waivers are scanned and stored the same way.
- Purchases and donations: your name, contact and order details. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Forms: what you type into the contact, newsletter sign-up, award nomination and event forms. These are emailed to SSRA’s volunteers.
- Comments: your name, the comment, and the internet address it was sent from.
Who can see it
- Everyone: on the ladders, your name, home club, positions and results (including scores, star ratings and comments). League standings and rankings shown on the site come from US Squash / Club Locker.
- Other players: nothing more. Your email address and phone number are never shown to other players or the public.
- SSRA volunteers who need it: administrators, and the ladder and waiver admins for their area. Ladder admins can read challenge messages. Waiver admins can see signed waivers, and every time one is opened or downloaded is recorded.
- Service providers that run the site for us: our web host (GoDaddy), Google Workspace (our email) and Stripe (payments). They only process it to provide their service.
- We share information with anyone else only if the law requires it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work: to keep you logged in, to remember your shopping cart, and to remember your name for comments. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies. Videos embedded from YouTube or other sites may set their own cookies when you play them.
How long we keep it
Account, ladder and order information is kept while you use the site; ask us and we will delete your account. Order records are kept as long as the law requires for our accounts. Signed waivers are kept for as long as they may be needed for legal reasons, which can be several years after a season ends, so they cannot be deleted on request.
Children
Players under 18 take part in the league with a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian, who gives their details. Website accounts are meant for players 13 and over. Washington junior players appear in the public US Squash rankings shown on the site. A parent can ask us to remove a child’s account or details at any time.
Your choices
You can see and change your details under My Account and My ladders, leave a ladder at any time, and ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (except signed waivers and records we must keep).
