World Championship Exhibition

Four of the world's best players are coming to Seattle in January for an exhibition at the Seattle Athletic Club (Downtown). Miguel Rodriguez, Ramy Ashour, Amr Shabana and Paul Coll will take to the courts on Saturday, January 26th as part of the Seattle Open tournament weekend.

Thank you, Yusuf, for your pioneering contribution. Squash would scarcely exist in the Northwest without you. The important moments - tournaments and big matches - will never be the same without your watchful presence. Yusuf was a devoted family man and maintained many close friendships around the world. He will be greatly missed.

Last night, we held our 2018 AGM at the Seattle Athletic Club, ironically around a table tennis table. We'd like to welcome Therese Tuppeny and Fawad Abbas to the board. They were both voted in unanimously and we are very much looking forward to their contribution and thank them for volunteering their time to the SSRA and to the local squash community. We're looking forward to a great year ahead!

Last night, the PMI Dave Cutler Bellevue Invitational kicked off with 4 incredible matches. The highlight of the night though was local Reeham Sedky, ranked 68 in the world, who took the court against Joelle King (WR #4).

Congratulations to Reeham on an incredible win. Undoubtedly the biggest win of her career so far.

Who is the best all-rounder with a Racquet? Table Tennis | Badminton | Pickleball | Squash

Racquethlon is a sport in which you challenge your opponent in each of four racquet sports. Table Tennis, Squash, Badminton, and Pickleball. A Racquethlon match contains four sets, one in each sport. All points are added together to determine the winner.

Firstly, thanks to everyone for playing in this year's Summer League! I hope you've all really enjoyed it and will be back to play again next year, as well as in our upcoming winter league!

We held the finals last night and I'd like to congratulate our finalists, especially Fawad's team for winning the league!

SQUASH! FLAGS! ICE! ADVIL! FUN! FRIENDS! BEERS! These were the core elements of the World Masters Squash 2018 tournament, held in Charlottesville, VA. Ten Seattle Squash Players competed and were among the 755 players from 55 countries, competing for world titles in age groups ranging from 35+ yrs old to 80+ yrs old. This is the first time that this bi-annual event has been held in the United States, so for many of those on Team Seattle this was the first chance they had to participate – but it certainly won’t be the last.

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, September 27th at 7PM at the Seattle Athletic Club Downtown.  This meeting is open to everyone.  We will elect this year's board, review what we accomplished last year and plans for this year and open the floor for comments/questions.

Would you like to win a ticket to see the Bellevue Invitational Tournament?

Seattle Squash is raffling off a number of tickets for our members to watch the tournament. In order to be eligible to win the raffle, you must be an active US Squash member with Seattle Squash designated as your district.

Seattle Squash would like to run a women's league, playing once or twice a month on Sunday afternoons with the matches followed by a social hour and including a women's pro exhibition. We will play all matches at the same club each month for a fun social atmosphere.

We will create multi-level teams, similar to the summer league, where each team has an A, B, C, and D player. So, no need to create a team to join the league, we will place you on a team so that the teams have equal playing levels and the matches will be the most competitive.

Tuesday, April 3rd - the finals of the Seattle Squash Winter League were played at PRO Sports Club in Bellevue. We had a great turnout and the atmosphere was fantastic, thanks to some very lively crowd support!

We'd like to thank the PRO Club (Shabana, Murad and Azam especially) for their help in organizing the evening. We are always incredibly grateful for their support.

It's time to decide our 2018 Winter League Winners!

Please come join us on Tuesday night (April 3rd) at PRO CLUB from 7pm. All matches are being played there. The SSRA will be providing complimentary food and drink.

All divisions have now finished their regular season matches and it's time for the playoffs!

Firstly though, thank you so much for an incredible season of squash. It has been great to see such enthusiasm and enjoyment for the league. And to our finalists, congratulations and best of luck for the weeks ahead!

As some of you know, on the weekend of March 16th-18th we organize the very first SAC Doubles tournament. This tournament will be played on our unique 4-glass wall doubles court.

You can team up with a friend or sign up individually and we'll team you up with the best possible candidate. The entering level will be determined by the average rating of the two players.

We hope you're all enjoying the squash season! We've had a few people ask about playoff dates, and I'd like to confirm those details for you.

We'll be providing food and drinks for the finals at PRO Club on April 3rd, so even if you aren't playing in the finals, it would be great to see you there.
